DiPaMe-20122024. - Today, we join the world in celebrating a momentous occasion—the inaugural World Meditation Day. Declared on 6th December by the United Nations and supported by 70 nations, this annual observance on December 21, the Winter Solstice, marks a global commitment to fostering mental, emotional, and physical well-being.
At PoM - Peace of Mind and it's community Maverick’s Cove, this milestone resonates deeply with our core values. The UN’s decision aligns perfectly with our vision, outlined in our Founder’s Manifesto, which emphasizes mindfulness as a transformative force for addressing the global mental health crisis. As a positive brand, we proudly support this initiative and its potential to inspire meaningful change worldwide.
Meditation: A Pathway to Mindfulness
Meditation is a foundational practice for mindfulness, offering countless benefits that touch every aspect of our lives. Mindfulness, the art of being present, enables us to live intentionally and compassionately, even amidst life’s challenges.
For the founder and initiator of PoM and Maverick’s Cove, mindfulness is not just a philosophy—it’s a daily practice. Regularly participating in mindfulness sessions offered by the Oxford Mindfulness Centre, they’ve experienced the extraordinary diversity and depth of this practice.
"The trainers are all excellent—sensitive, yet each with their own unique style. Over time, I’ve learned from around 10 different trainers, each introducing new techniques: grounding, rooting the body like a tree or mountain, mindful breathing, body scans, and awareness of sensations or mind wandering. Every day, I discover something new," the founder shares.
This commitment to mindfulness underscores the trans-formative power of meditation, a journey of self-discovery and growth that we hope to share with our global community.
