PoM Policy: Affiliate & Associate Disclaimer/Disclosure

As with most sites on the Internet, we do use affiliate links. This means we may earn a small commission if a user/visitor/reader clicks through and makes a purchase.

Yet Affiliate partnership programs or any Associate obligations do not affect in any form inclusions in our reviews, news or (Instagram) stories. - We keep us always free to connect with brands and producers who do not have an affiliate account but who are doing well in their product performance and product tests and we wont be shy to include such brands 100% in our product collections and recommendations.
Yet our main focus is and always will be - since more than 25 years - to provide as best as possible high-quality content as knowledge base for your individual decisions about a healthy life style, for a peaceful mind and joyful happyness.

We follow the principle of Truth in Advertising (e.g. upheld by the FTC, USA and EU):

"When consumers see or hear an advertisement, whether it’s on the Internet, radio or television, or anywhere else, federal law says that ad must be truthful, not misleading, and, when appropriate, backed by scientific evidence. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) enforces these truth-in-advertising laws […] no matter where an ad appears.

Herewith we offer for all our visitors and buyers our official and public Disclosure Statement to satisfy the requirements from side of our Affiliate partners, e.g. fulfilling Amazon’s conditions for being part of their Associate Program (as Amazon Associate) and given Associate Program Policies.

Transparency is a must, and we disclose our relationship with every post of an affiliate link. Herefore we add to a short comment and hint as simple as "paid link" or hashtags like #Ad, #PaidLink or #CommissionsEarned. - We place regularly such comment near any affiliate link or product review in a location that our customers will notice easily.

Further more for social media posts, we make sure that any affiliate link disclosure is written in the video description or body of the post. This includes temporary posts (e.g. Instagram stories being 24 hours availble).

As the upper named FTC’s affiliate guidelines apply to all promotional mediums - we might use we - will include relevant hints also in our emails (e.g. newsletter) to avoid the violation of the CAN-SPAM Act and to fulfill all regulatory compliances, nationally and internationally.

Our visitors (users) will therefor be able to tell that any of our posts which include an affiliate link is promotional even if they do not click on “read more” or "buy now". If we should use customer testimonials as part of our affiliate marketing, we also follow the guidelines on testimonials.

For the PoM websites and our blog news section, for any information page or product page, we post our affiliate link disclosure as static part of your website site and online store in the footer and header navigation menu (see under "Policies").

From Amazon we are obliged by Section 5 of the Amazon Associates Program Operating Agreement and the FTC’s endorsement guidance.

Protection Regulation (GDPR) by the EU and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) of 2018 (with update on March 2024), as "terms of use" enforce our rules sitewide and protects us from abusive users.
