part 2 (published on 10th October 2024) here:

Introduction:

DigitPaxM-27092024. - The World Mental Health Day, observed annually on October 10th, is a global initiative dedicated to raising awareness about mental health issues, promoting education, and advocating against social stigma. -

Established in 1992 by the World Federation for Mental Health (WFMH), this day serves as a platform to unite stakeholders and address the growing need for mental well-being worldwide.

The World Federation for Mental Health (WFMH) presents its Global Campaign 2024 which aims to recognise the World Mental Health Day 2024 alongside the final phase of WFMH 75th Anniversary.

The WFMH campaign and its initiatives will be based on this year’s official theme: ‘It is Time to Prioritize Mental Health in the Workplace’.

The World Health Organization (WHO) supports the day by providing technical and communication materials, and by collaborating with Ministries of Health and civil society organizations worldwide.

Our blog article will address some relevant questions for all who like to know more about the WMHD in general, and specifically we go into some aspects of Mental Health and the WMHD 2024.

Our 1st question: What are the key historical developments and milestones that led to the establishment and evolution of World Mental Health Day?

Evolving Focus of World Mental Health Day:

World Mental Health Day has transformed from a general awareness campaign to a platform for tackling specific themes. Each year, the WFMH selects a theme through a global vote, ensuring the day addresses the most pressing concerns in the mental health landscape.

Promote mental health as a universal right ...

The 2023 theme, "Mental health is a universal human right," advocated for the right to mental health for all individuals.

2024 Theme: Prioritizing Mental Health in the Workplace

The 2024 World Mental Health Day focuses on "Mental Health at Work," acknowledging the significant impact of work environments on mental well-being.

This theme encourages prioritizing mental health in the workplace by addressing stress, anxiety, and burnout. It highlights the growing recognition of the interconnectedness between work and mental health, aiming to create supportive and healthy workplaces that benefit both employees and organizations.

History of the WHD ... key developments and milestones:

Conclusion:

World Mental Health Day is a reminder that mental health is a vital part of overall well-being.
